Summary
In the recently loaded Q1 2020 home health admit data, home health claims that were new episodes (recertifications) for a previous admission are being counted as new stays, as opposed to a new episode on a previous stay. Our data science team is rapidly working on obtaining new files and correcting the issue. The correct data will be updated in Marketscape on the night of September 30.
Every quarter, the most recent admit counts for home health are incomplete because of the episodic nature of home health. For this reason, the most recent quarter is shaded in our solution as a reminder that the numbers are incomplete. This quarter, you may notice the most recent admit counts appear higher than normal for some agencies. Q1 2020 admit counts are inflated 25% on average across all home health agencies.
